Bed wetting or Nocturnal Enuresis

Believe me baby will learn sooner or later. It's just matter of time. This is one thing which is most difficult aspect of mother care. In fact I would not like it to be confined to mother care only. Bed wet is something very common in toddlerstoilet training is one very difficult aspect of child care. It is behavior hence it need training. Lets understand the child psyche.
First thing to understand is its good thing to do as it help us to clean our body toxic. Child is unaware of the fact that we can control our peeing for some time. This thing have to be taught  but in a tactful manner. Here are few tips for toddler between 0-6 years
  • Check the time interval between two urination and then try to pee your baby may be with a sound like "sss"or "any other sound like "zzzz" for a while which is termed as "classical conditioning technique". You will notice after few weeks your baby will pee immediately  you make that sound.
  • Repeat this activity even when baby is sleeping and you will notice that even while sleeping your baby will response.
  • Advised to use diapers especially in winter nights to avoid baby sleeping in mess.
  • Traditionally many mothers use plastic sheet as well.
**After two years you should minimize the use of diapers at night . It may be little painful for you as well but letting your baby in mess will help them learn new aspect of this life process. In case your baby does not learn it now this problem may go to next level.
Baby in the age group of 6 years onwards
There is no perfect age but it is believed that at the age of 6 your baby should be aware of the fact rather baby's sphincter should send so strong signal to baby's brain that it should make baby aware for peeing but just in case this doesnot happen do not panic and try these steps
  • Stop using diapers.
  • Do not let your baby take any fluid 6 hours before sleep at night. Even if baby wants water allow him as much less as possible.
  • Take baby to toilet just before bed.
  • Stop late night milk or any other fluid.
  • during day time train baby to hold peeing for some time. Don't shout but tell your baby to start  with short duration.
  • There are many alarms available in the markets.
  • There are many exercises to help them.
  • In case they still continue do not feel two times to share this to child specialist/ pediatrician.
I know you always care but these are just few tips which will help you not to loose temper on your kids as yelling or shouting at your kids will just add to your problems.
All the best.
