Literature is always changing. This art form is integral part. It
is gaining a lot of popularity in today’s writings. Firstly let’s understand humor:
I am humorous. Will this make you laugh. No, because you have not experienced
it. So satire and humor go hand in hand. Satirical works often contain "straight" humor, usually
to give relief from what might otherwise be more like “preaching”.
The journey of history is too long being mentioned in pages.
One thing
we cannot get rid of is Renaissance. It is a cultural movement originated
from 14th century to 17th century which means rebirth. The term is also used more loosely to refer to the historical
era, as a cultural movement, it encompassed a flowering of literature, science,
art, religion, and as a cultural movement it impacted our society and gave new dimension
to the art and living style of people. It brought humor on the interface. It is
the period of transition from medieval to modern. Simple words it is phase of
revival. It gave birth to many art forms and one of the art form is “Satire”. This
fuses Satire and humor.
Gulliver travels of
Jonnathen Swift are one of the must read books for all. It is a masterpiece of satire.
Authors like Pope, Jonathan swift are master of this form.
